This course is considered a training course A unique and distinctive opportunity to learn Braille for the blind, in cooperation with the “Our Frequency – A Message Out of the Ordinary” Center. The course aims to enable participants to acquire effective skills in reading and writing Braille, and to encourage them to interact with cultural content. and educational independently.
Courses material:
- Course 1: Increasing Tactile Sensitivity and Basics of Braille Language**
– Duration: First week.
– Content:
– Enhancing tactile sensitivity among participants.
– Explanation of the fundamentals of the Braille system and basic notations.
– Practical exercises for applying touch and understanding primary symbols. - Course 2: Beginning to Use Braille Writing Tools**
– Duration: Second and third weeks.
– Content:
– Learning to use Braille writing tools.
– How to arrange symbols and write in an organized and accurate manner.
– Practical exercises to improve writing skills. - Course 3: Writing and Reading Letters and Numbers**
– Duration: Fourth and fifth weeks.
– Content:
– Introduction to all letters and numbers in both Arabic and English languages.
– Practices for writing and reading these letters and numbers in Braille.
– Improving language skills and enhancing speed and accuracy. - Course 4: Writing and Reading Texts in Braille and Vice Versa**
– Duration: Sixth and seventh weeks.
– Content:
– Writing and reading sentences and short texts in Braille.
– Using tools for tactile reading.
– Skills in reading and writing in Braille and transitioning between languages.
Course Features:
- Specialized Location:
– The course takes place at “Tardadna – Beyond the Ordinary Message” center, a dedicated facility for recording audiobooks for the visually impaired. The location provides participants with the opportunity to learn recording techniques and benefit from an environment conducive to Braille language learning. - Flexible and Balanced Schedule:
– The course runs for a full month after the blessed month of Ramadan, every Saturday for 3 hours per day. This flexible schedule offers participants the chance to learn at a suitable and balanced pace. - Dedicated Break Time
– A 20-minute break period is included in the course for stretching or having a hot beverage, emphasizing the course’s attention to the spiritual and personal aspects of participants. - Integration of Volunteer Work:
– The program encourages active participation of volunteers in providing support during the course and in external activities, inspiring a spirit of solidarity and volunteer work in serving the visually impaired. - Highlighting the Positive Impact:
– The program highlights the positive impact of volunteer work and how kindness and assistance can inspire positive change in society and enhance communication among different participant groups. - Training Certification:
– Upon completion of the Braille Language Learning Course for the visually impaired, participants will be awarded an official certificate of appreciation. This certificate signifies their significant progress in acquiring Braille language skills and their excellence in engaging with the training content. The aim of this certificate is to enhance motivation and pride among participants, in addition to providing official proof of their new skills in Braille language.
